photoblog image Taking Flight..

Taking Flight..

I  think I am finally ready  to take flight. To be the best I can be and not be afraid of what I might face.!!!!!

If you've paid attention to all the posts I have featured on here you will notice that I have tried different things. I am happy to say that it's been quite a treat. You all have been so great commenting and all. So this picture is for all the shutterchancers who have walked with me through this journey. You all know who you are. Every single person who drops a line on this here page. I am happy to report that I have found my direction....So it can only get more interesting from here!!!!!!!!!

MORE EXPERIMENTING TO DO.......MUAHAHAMUAHAHA (THAT'S EVIL LAUGHTER BY THE WAY)

Trying different things is fun! I am doing the same. I love this photo! The colors and light are eye catching.
Ada Emihe: Thank you so much Suri. I am having fun. Glad you are too.

how interesting. I don't like this image exactly for the same reasons Ade likes it. smile In addition, the composition is falling apart. I understand, it's hard to shoot birds. They're always on a move. smile
This new direction you talk about, dear, is it in your photography or you talk about your life in general?
Ada Emihe: lol...The new direction is about Life in general..I really like this image. But Art is subjective and I respect your opinion. You didn't answer my last question VZ.....GET TO IT!

Ada Emihe: Ah Ade you are too much oh..Thank you girl. I hope to learn some more.
Stunning, Ada. I can';t believe just how many SCers take bird photographs so successfully. I would not even try.
Ada Emihe: Thank you so much Chad. Coming from you, a huge compliment. Thank you for liking. Try it, it's not that bad. grin

Very nice Ada!!! Goodluck on your new journey
Ada Emihe: Thanks so much Etomi.
Really growing wings... Safe journey o, you're leaving me behind fast sef smile
Ada Emihe: Babaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.............No oh..we are on this journey together, you berra walk fast I am waiting for you..tongue
Now that's nicely caught and well lit too. This is good place to try new things - SCers are generally very supportive.
Ada Emihe: Thank you Ian. I tried to snap away as it stood at my feet, but it flew away.
Awesome shot, know what you did with the PP but you overdid it and so the PP is not there yet, can you see the outlines around the bird? Know what you tweaked in PP, the aim when retouching is not to produce these outline. So me dear, retouch again.

But lovely lovely capture to start with smile

Looking forward to this flight smile
Ada Emihe: Thank you much Suby..I am grateful for all your advice and help. It has done alot for me. I hope as I keep going you guys will still walk with me. Lol..I saw the wings too, I went overboard with that one and I will retouch it again.

Writers talk about "finding their voice" but I don't know what the equivalent for the photographer is. "Finding your eyes," perhaps?

I've been doing some thinking about this over the last few days, particularly after seeing Steve Paxton's excellent gallery, which you recommended (homeless people, landscape and everything). Some people have crafted a really recognisable style, or visual direction that works for them and I think it's something we should all strive for. There are too many "copies" out there and it's nice to see you striding out, Ada. Nothing better than an original imho.

Lovely shot.
Ada Emihe: Thank you so much Harv for understanding the importance of having a unique style..I hope I find mine. It's so exciting when one can actually see your work and say, that's Ada's work..without even thinking twice.

Wonderful capture!the colors so beautiful. smile
Ada Emihe: Thank you Zohre
if you were a renowned master, one would have assumed you put the outlines on purpose

sometimes mistakes in pp, or rather side effects of overzealous pp can help make the shot more ethereal and not necessarily worse

i for instance like the glow/fringing that comes with some shadow/highlight adjustments...yes it's a beginner's side effect, but it's an effect i like to see from time to time

anyways judging from how sharply you've improved, you'll soon be soaring at the top, just like our little friend here
Ada Emihe: Thanks so much Draw..I am blushing seriously. We will all get were we want to be by God's grace.
this one really makes me laugh
I think its the feet dangling!
thank you
