Rob Happy

Alot of us seem to take things for granted. I met "Rob" on the streets of newyork yesterday. He had a big water jar with a sighn that said "Help the homeless"..................He asked me if I was a photographer and I blushed and said "hardly".....Anyways he is one of the many people in newyork city who live on the streets and he is also one of the most intelligent guys I have ever met. He even has a CD with all his poetry in it. I asked for his picture and he kindly obliged and asked if he could look at it today. "They have a place where I can go on the computer"..he happily said.  "Even if I'm down and out...I got to be happy".........

I walked away from him and wondered if I had the same attitude....

The lighting is perfect for the subject. I think I have that attitude but we never really know what it is like to be in someone elses shoes until we wear them.
Ada Emihe: Exactly Suri...most people complain about the littlest things and seem to forget how blessed they are.
Lovely shot Ada, like I said, you got me hooked.
Ada Emihe: Dont you know I take pictures just for you Sesan? Ese....Thanx Sir!!

Great shot here: maybe he's found the secret of a happy life
Ada Emihe: Thanks Chris...He has a good heart. We all need that...
This sounds and looks like a shot I had up in 2006 - see below smile Excellent capture. The sharpening is tad much though.

Ada Emihe: Thanks so much Dotun...I saw yours and it was awesome..but your story was even better..I actually like the sharpening, wanted the picture to have a certain feel. I want my urban photographs to have a harsh side to them.
Great portrait Ada. I think he will be pleased.
Ada Emihe: Thanks Bill, I hope he will be pleased...but I will find out from him.
You have some interesting light effects in this portrait, Ada, very good.
Ada Emihe: Thank you Chad...I'm glad you likey.

"You should never judge a book by it's cover"
There is no truer saying.
Great shot.
Ada Emihe: I know really...talking to him opened up a whole new world to me. Looking at someone does not mean you see everything about the person.

Rob, if you see this, HANG IN THERE! DO NOT GIVE UP! We're living in very hard times right now but we have got to believe that the Entire Universe is there for us.

Thanks, Ada, for giving the gift of Rob to us. His eyes pierce right through my soul and bring tears to my eyes. God have mercy on us all!
Ada Emihe: Thank you so much Ginnie....God have mercy on us all....Rob is blessed and like many others out there. God is for us all even if the world isn't.

besides the attractions of the picture, the story attracts me ... Wish Rob luck. Nice work for you.
Ada Emihe: thanks so much Bahar...He has a wonderful personality and he deserves the best.
He certainly looks a little battered and weatherbeaten. It's a good portrait.
Ada Emihe: Thank you Ian..I am just glad his heart isn't battered. Thank you so much.

......I got to be happy....words so easily said Ada.
I have been looking at the pictures of Paxtonprints, they are stunning, this one is stunning to me too, look at the intensity of his eyes, he is alive, he does have a life, different than ours, maybe his choice, maybe his fate, at least he tries to be happy, he tries to be happy with 'nothing', communication will be so important to him, meeting people and only few like you will take time and listen to him, talk to him and will not be judgemental about his way of life.
I think you did good in so many ways.
This picture is a likey to me.
Have a nice weekend.
Ada Emihe: Yes, Steve Paxton does amazing work. I learnt something Astrid, most times people want to be respected and paid attention to. After I talked to him, I took away something with me. Don't judge a book by it's cover, like Tracy said.
Hi Ada,this shot speaks a thousand words, great work!
Ada Emihe: Thank you so much Jimmy...I looked at your work, you have some great stuff. Thank you so much for taking the time out to visit. Come again.

Excellent capture, Ada.
Ada Emihe: Thank you so much Bridge...appreciate it.

Wow. Lovely pic, lovely story.
Ada Emihe: Thanks so much Chichi..were have you been?
great blogging miss.

it's scary to learn that even an intelligent and artistic person can be reduced to such a state

he probably lacks more of a caring family/friends than much money
Ada Emihe: For real oh Draw. This life is full of twists and turns. I am so glad I got to talk to him. Thank you.
